REVIEW: Please Forward All DFB Inquires To THIS Newly Opened EPCOT Food and Wine Booth

If you thought you had seen everything at the 2026 EPCOT Food and Wine Festival, think again. Because select Marketplace Food Booths are continuing to open well after the Festival’s August 27th kickoff, and among them is The Alps!

Welcome to the Alps!

We imagine many of you are as excited as we are to welcome The Alps back to the Food and Wine Festival at long last. You see, this returning booth is particularly beloved for its famous Warm Raclette Swiss Cheese. BUT there’s been a change to this fan-favorite dish this year… and that’s not the only thing in store. So we’re here to bring you our full review so we can let you know how things are faring at The Alps this year!

Menu

The Alps takes festival-goers on a culinary tour of Swiss-inspired dishes, featuring two returning favorites: the Warm Raclette Swiss Cheese on a Baguette and the Kirschwasser Torte. The savory Tartiflette is new this year.

The menu!

Guests may pair their dishes with The Alps’ Wine Flight, which presents three Austrian wines: Salomon Undhof Stein Kremstal DAC Riesling, Loimer Lois Grüner Veltliner, and Schlumberger Klassik Brut. Each of these may also be purchased individually.

Let’s taste everything The Alps has to offer!

Eats

Our first thought when Disney announced the menu for The Alps this year was that the Warm Raclette Swiss Cheese on a Baguette with Jambon and Apple-Mustard Relish ($6.79) might be a bit controversial. While it is technically a returning item, it is one of 30 items at the Festival that have been designated a 30th Anniversary Legacy Item in honor of the Festival’s big milestone. Several of these legacy items have been “reimagined” for this year, including the Warm Raclette Swiss Cheese — if you’re unfamiliar, you can check out the usual presentation here, typically plated with baby potatoes, and with or without Alpine Ham.

Warm Raclette Swiss Cheese and Alpine Ham from 2025

This year, the Warm Raclette Swiss Cheese is served on a baguette with jambon (ham) and apple-mustard relish. And if you’re participating in the Emile’s Fromage Montage Cheese Crawl, you’ll want to know that this is one of your choices.

This is visually striking, and Disney even had the full wheels of authentic raclette cheese in the booth where they were making this! It’s a hearty and nutty cheese with seriously robust flavors, and it pairs beautifully with the shaved meat and apple flavors. The baguette was crunchy and offered a nice crunch, which made it nice and hearty despite being a smaller portion. The cheese, bread, and strong flavors make this small bite easily shareable.

SO cheesy!

The cheese might be a bit much for some to enjoy only because it oozes out when you bite into it, but we can appreciate a little too much cheese at times. Despite the amount of cheese, the other elements of the dish were still able to shine through. The apple relish was refreshing and light, with a slightly acidic and tart flavor. The dish really benefited from the relish, and we were quite pleased with the balance it provided.

It’s literally oozing out!

The Tartiflette is new this year! This dish is comprised of potatoes gratin, caramelized onions, bacon, thyme, crème fraîche, and brie cheese. It’s $5.49 and is also an option for those participating in Emile’s Fromage Montage Cheese Crawl.

The Tartiflette

The potatoes were perfectly cooked in this dish! They were slightly firm when we bit into them but not undercooked. The crème fraîche and brie cheese made them creamy, soft, and almost luxurious. The creamy feeling was pleasant and balanced well with the hearty potatoes without being overly cheesy. The flavors melted together, and the onion sealed the deal. The onions fill your nose in each bite, but they don’t overpower the dish.

Look at that cream!

This was easily our favorite of the items we tried at the booth. The Kirschwasser Torte made its debut last year.

Kirschwasser Torte

It’s layered with cherry-brandy buttercream and fondant, and garnished with sugared almonds and cherry compote for $5.49. This dessert was a home run! The layers of thin cake had a nice crumb, moist texture without being too soft or falling apart. Each layer of cake was separated by a layer of cherry buttercream with made each bite very pleasant. The fondant icing on the outside was a welcome addition, especially thanks to the crunchy toasted silvered almonds.

SO pretty!

The best bites were the ones that had a bit of each layer, plus the fondant, and a touch of the cherry compote. The cherry compote added a nice tart flavor to help balance the sweet cake and buttercream flavors. Each bite with the compote made us want to dive back in for more!

Have a bite!

Drinks

To sip, The Alps features a Wine Flight ($8.50) of three Austrian wines: Salomon Undhof Stein Kremstal DAC Riesling (from Stein an der Donau), Loimer Lois Grüner Veltliner (from Niederösterreich), and Schlumberger Klassik Brut (from Weinviertel). You can try any of these individually as well, and you will see the prices per pour below.

The wine flight!

First up is the Salomon Undhof Stein Kremstal DAC Riesling, which you can try individually for $7.50.

The Loimer Lois Grüner Veltliner is available as an individual pour for $6.50.

Finally, the Schlumberger Klassik Brut can be tried on its own for $7.75.

Schlumberger Klassik Bru

Each of the wines was quite dry, which was appreciated by our reporter! The Riesling has a light, fresh aftertaste and it was slightly apple-forward. Aside from that, each wine didn’t offer notable differences. Each wine was light and refreshing, but not memorable because they were so similar.

OVERALL

The booth offers some tasty, yet familiar flavors that continue to wow us each year! The DFB team will probably be parked outside of this booth drinking the raclette cheese for the foreseeable future. Please forward all inquiries for our team to the Germany pavilion until November 21st.
