Reopening Dates for 'it's a small world' Holiday & Redwood Creek Challenge Trail at Disneyland Resort

“it’s a small world” Holiday and Redwood Creek Challenge Trail will reopen in November after being closed for their respective overlays at Disneyland Resort.

“it’s a small world” Holiday

The ride will be closed beginning October 30 to convert the attraction to the holiday version, complete with lights, festive music, and decor.

Disney will dress it up with decorations representing different holiday traditions from around the world. The ride’s famous theme song is also blended with holiday classics like “Jingle Bells” and “Deck the Halls.”

According to the calendar, it will reopen on Friday, November 13. Watch our 2025 video of the overlay below.

Redwood Creek Challenge Trail

Redwood Creek Challenge Trail, on the other hand, is closing on November 1 to remove its seasonal Halloween overlay. It will also reopen on Friday, November 13.

It becomes Villains Grove during Oogie Boogie Bash as an enchanted grove of mystical lights, sights and sounds. Here’s what guests can expect to encounter:

  • Frollo’s Sanctuary – Head into an otherworldly cathedral of trees infused with incense smells and chanting voices.
  • Maleficent’s Will – Roam through a region replete with eerie ravens, thorn-spiked vines and a seemingly spellbound waterfall of cascading colour!
  • Queen of Hearts Garden – Wander ‘round a charming garden of roses that paint themselves red right before your eyes!
  • Scar’s Elephant Graveyard – Descend into a vast expanse that echoes with hyena laughter!
  • Dr. Facilier’s Friends on the Other Side – Summoned by the great beyond, shadowy hands and colourful spells lure Guests deeper into the grove’s darkest corners.
  • The Wicked Queen’s Lightning Forest – See the forest come alive as an electrifying storm flashes from branch to branch.
  • Home of the Wisps – Watch these winged caretakers guide Guests to safety amid a magical bastion of endless light.
  • Dawn – Escape in the nick of time as flickering lanterns lead the way toward a brilliant sunrise and the conclusion of this mythical trip!
