A new boat scene has been added to the Rivers of the Far West at Disneyland Paris. It features nods to Marc Davis and joins the new animal scenes that were added a few months ago. These scenes had been delayed but were announced by the park last year.
Disneyland Paris Debuts New ‘Coyote’ Keelboat Scene

Photos shared today by DLP Works showcase the new boat scene. The keelboat is called the “Coyote,” a tribute to one of the two boats used in the River Rogue Keelboats attraction, which operated at Disneyland Paris from 1992 to 2009. The other keelboat used was named the “Raccoon.”

Several crows inspired by original sketches from Disney Legend Marc Davis were added to the scene as well. Davis was one of Disney’s “Nine Old Men,” a group of animators who worked at Walt Disney Productions in its early years. Davis joined Disney in 1935, starting as an animator on Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. He later moved to WED and worked on such attractions as Jungle Cruise, Enchanted Tiki Room, Carousel of Progress, “it’s a small world,” The Haunted Mansion, and Country Bear Jamboree.

The boat itself features a weathered wood exterior with askew window shutters and numerous Western props, like barrels, crates, bags, and rope.

In previous photos shared by DLP Works, the control panel for the keelboat was visible, slightly breaking immersion. The control panel has since been obscured by props. The new boat scene can be found near the bison that were added a few months ago.

DLP Works noted that a temporary dam has been installed, allowing the Mark Twain dry dock to be emptied before its demolition.

The Old Joe & Moonshine AA are also still missing and undergoing refurbishment at Disneyland Paris’ Central Workshop.
