KP-1, the fan-designed astromech droid that made its on-screen debut in Obi-Wan Kenobi, has joined the Droid Factory Build-A-Droid series in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
KP-1 Droid Factory Figure – $19.99

The fully sculpted figure recreates KP-1’s unusual cone-shaped design, which consists of three modular sections. The droid has a white base color decorated with dark green panels and silver accents on top, similar to R2-D2. In a unique feature, its dome-shaped head can be extended above the body.
KP-1 features a distinct, buoy-like body shape, standing approximately 2 1/2 inches tall. The figure comes with a collector card featuring the original concept art and more information about the droid.
The set also includes one piece of RX-01 from Star Wars: Skeleton Crew. Six separately sold releases from the monthly Droid Factory Build-A-Droid program are required to assemble the complete RX-01 figure.

KP-1 was designed by French Star Wars fan Camille Manet for the 2019 Build My Droid contest organized by Lucasfilm’s Star Wars: Force for Change initiative and the global robotics organization FIRST. Manet’s design won the grand prize and was later brought to life for Part V of the Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi.
The name KP-1 is short for “Knave Puff.” Manet envisioned the droid as loyal and clever, but also easily offended and prone to panicking when attempting to warn its owner of danger.
We found the fan-made droid at Tatooine Traders in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
