Slight changes have been made to the preshow of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind to stop would-be Terran “comedians” from making inappropriate comments.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Preshow Updated

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind features two preshows. The first — in which Nova Prime Irani Rael (Glenn Close) and Centurion Tal Marik (Terry Crews) welcome guests, give the backstory of the Cosmic Generator, and go through the safety spiel — is the one that has been updated.

Previously, after Marik muttered through various terms for Terrans, he would holler, “Does anybody know what they call themselves?!” followed by a pause in the dialogue. It was here that some guests would reportedly yell “Alcoholics!” (in reference to EPCOT’s “drinking around the world” trend). This was a common enough occurrence that Disney decided to stop giving guests the opportunity to interrupt.

Now, after Marik asks the rhetorical question, the video immediately “glitches” and cuts straight to the next segment, in which the bewildered Centurion goes, “What? I’m on?! Someone needs to tell me when I’m on!” before starting his spiel.

Additional glitching effects have been added throughout his spiel for consistency, and perhaps to also serve as subtle foreshadowing of the arrival of the Celestial Eson the Searcher.

Here’s the video of the updated preshow without the pause:

The popular EPCOT coaster also recently introduced a new crowd-control system following the second preshow to prevent guests from rushing the doors, although it is not always implemented.
