New aerial photos reveal extensive site preparation and foundation work for a future attraction behind Dark Universe at Universal Epic Universe.
Dark Universe Attraction Construction

Aerial photographer @bioreconstruct captured the latest work on the expansion pad behind the Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment show building.
The once-wooded plot has been completely cleared, leaving a broad construction site between the existing attraction building and the road surrounding Epic Universe. Most of the area has been graded and leveled, with tire tracks from construction vehicles covering the newly exposed ground.

Large crane-mounted pile-driving equipment remains near the center of the site. Crews are installing foundation piles that will eventually support the new structure. When we last checked on the project in September, excavation had recently begun, and the equipment was moving into place.

A wide depression remains visible near the center of the expansion pad, where an excavator is continuing to move earth. Trenches have also been carved along portions of the construction perimeter, including near the back of the Monsters Unchained building and beside the roadway.
Stacks of steel reinforcement material are staged beside a neighboring backstage building. Additional pipes and construction materials are positioned around the site, while orange safety fencing outlines active excavation areas.

Crews have also established a dirt access road around the backstage structures and into the main work zone. This required the removal or rerouting of some existing paved areas behind Dark Universe.

From a wider view, the size and location of the expansion pad are particularly clear. The site sits directly behind Darkmoor Village and Monsters Unchained, with the attraction’s Gothic manor façade and the Curse of the Werewolf roller coaster visible nearby.
Speculation has included attractions inspired by the Creature from the Black Lagoon and the Bride of Frankenstein, but neither concept has been confirmed. For now, the visible pile work and extensive grading indicate that the project is moving beyond initial land clearing and into early construction.
