Is there really anything better than eating and drinking your way around the World Showcase during an EPCOT festival?! No, we didn’t think so either. The 2026 EPCOT Food and Wine Festival is running from August 27th through November 21st, 2026, celebrating 30 years of this beloved event, and we’ve made our way to every single booth, trying old and new favorites.
While we have plenty of best eats of the festival, there are a few that we feel the need to warn you about — and not because they’re not good, either! Instead, we need to give you a heads up about these eats because, well, they’re just too dang hot.
Listen, don’t get us wrong — we love the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival and all it has to offer, but we have one specific complaint that we think is worth warning you about. A few booths this year feature eats that are served in little ramekins or tins, which makes them super cute, but the problem lies in the fact that the dishes are served PIPING HOT and the tins are made of metal.
Now, look, I’m not a scientist. Let’s just say there’s a reason I am an editor and writer instead, but even I know the basics — and the basics say that metal conducts heat. It’s why pans and ovens are made of metal, after all. So, when Disney serves these dishes hot in these little metal tins, they can get pretty dang hot.
We experienced this firsthand on the very first day of the festival, when we headed over to grab the Blackberry Buckle from Regal Eagle Smokehouse. We absolutely LOVED this dessert — it’s made with blackberry gelato and streusel — but the tin it was served in nearly burned our fingers because it was so hot.
And, over at The Alps booth, the new Tartiflette is another dish served in a tin. It’s made with potatoes gratin, caramelized onions, bacon, thyme, crème fraîche, and brie. Sounds super bubbly and gooey, right?! This one was also served on a plate, but we found that, just like the pot pie, we had to grab the tin to get a good forkful of the dish itself.
Since these dishes were raved about by our team, we do think you should try them — we just think you need to use caution when doing so! We don’t want you to burn your fingers and potentially ruin your day!
We’ll be on the lookout for even more Food & Wine Festival updates you need to know about and beyond. In the meantime, make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest news and more!
