A piece of Monstropolis concept art has received a quick turnaround after the original was put on display at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Glob Theater Lobby Concept Art Updated
The original artwork for The Glob Theater lobby was put on display at the Monstropolis Preview Center in Disney’s Hollywood Studios in late September. It shows guests walking through a lobby with glass chandeliers adorned with monster eyes, horns, and teeth details.
The updated concept art notably has new chandeliers that are less “monstrous” and more classic in their design, although they do have a passing resemblance to Celia Mae’s snake-like hair and feature a scaly texture on the rounded glass bottom.
The other noticeable change is the poster displayed to the left of the concessions stand. In the original art, it advertised a movie called Silence of the Cribs, a parody of the not-so-family-friendly horror film Silence of the Lambs. It now appears to promote a concert for a Blues Brothers-inspired octopus musician performing “live at the Glob.”
We don’t know what prompted these sudden changes to the concept art, nor if it has been updated in the Monstropolis preview center.
