I haven’t even had my first ride with The Electric Mayhem yet, and Disney is already giving us another reason to be ridiculously excited about the Muppets taking over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
From November 4, 2026, through January 6, 2027, the attraction will become Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets: Obligatory Holiday Overlay. Yes, that is really the name. “Obligatory” makes the whole thing even better.
The limited-time version will bring holiday music, seasonal touches, and a special set list to the attraction, with the festivities beginning outside G-Force Records. Guests will hear holiday music around the courtyard and that massive guitar marquee before heading inside for the latest chaos involving Dr. Teeth and The Electric Mayhem.

The Electric Mayhem Is Getting Ready for the Holidays
Inside G-Force Records, Dr. Teeth, Animal, Floyd, Janice, Zoot, and Lips are rehearsing for their holiday spectacular. Naturally, things aren’t going particularly smoothly.
Several familiar Muppets will turn up along the way as the band attempts to get ready for its concert. Disney says the story will include The Electric Mayhem becoming so wrapped up in rehearsals that someone needs to convince them it’s actually time to leave for the show.
That’s where Scooter comes in.

The attraction will feature the first-ever Audio-Animatronics figure of Scooter, created with motion-capture technology using the actual Scooter Muppet. Walt Disney Imagineering recorded Scooter’s movements and performance to help translate all those little mannerisms into the Audio-Animatronics figure.

And because this is the Muppets, Scooter’s audio engineers are penguins.
Scooter will attempt to get The Electric Mayhem out of the studio and across town to their increasingly impatient fans. Guests will then make their escape aboard a vehicle created with the latest technology from Muppet Labs: the Lengthy Immediate Motion Object, otherwise known as the L.I.M.O.
I have missed this kind of Muppet humor SO much.

NEW Holiday Music Coming to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster
The holiday overlay will also bring a special seasonal set list, with The Electric Mayhem joined by some pretty impressive guests.
Disney has revealed the following songs:
- “Holiday Road” – The Electric Mayhem featuring Kermit the Frog and Fozzie Bear
- “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” – The Electric Mayhem featuring Jennifer Hudson
- “Silver Bells” – The Electric Mayhem featuring Cyndi Lauper
Interestingly, Disney’s announcement says the holiday experience will feature four new holiday-inspired tracks, but only three were listed. We’ll be watching to see whether there’s one more song still waiting in the wings.
And can we talk about Kermit and Fozzie joining The Electric Mayhem for “Holiday Road”?! Between that, Jennifer Hudson, Cyndi Lauper, Scooter, penguin audio engineers, and whatever other Muppet mayhem is waiting inside, this overlay sounds like it could be one of the most fun additions to the Walt Disney World holiday season.
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets: Obligatory Holiday Overlay runs from November 4, 2026, through January 6, 2027, at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
