More Theming Added as Pull Testing Continues at Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift at Universal Studios Florida

The imposing track of Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift now towers over Universal Studios Florida, and as pull testing continues, more themed elements are sprouting up on and around the coaster, as captured by aerial photographer bioreconstruct.

Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift Construction Update

The most visible themed element is the red jackknifed Peterbilt truck, which sits on a platform near the initial launch. Its trailer, however, is too thin to be an actual commercial truck trailer.

The first launch will take place between these stacks of shipping containers (perhaps a nod to the end of Fast & Furious: Supercharged) before propelling guests underneath the trailer of the jackknifed truck.

From this angle, you can see how the launch will send guests through the containers and under the trailer.

Peering inside the ride station, we can see steel frames being constructed for additional themed elements.

Steel frames for more facade work are also visible on the outside next to the ride entrance (the brick archway).

Pull testing has been taking place using the black Dodge Charger ride vehicle by itself. The pull test car is currently stationed at the mid-course brake run of the coaster.

The wires visible around the ride vehicle are to check clearance, so guests waving their limbs around don’t strike anything and injure themselves.

For location reference, the walkway above the fences in this photo leads to the Stranger Things 5 maze at Halloween Horror Nights, so you may get a look at the car as you walk by.

In this photo, bioreconstruct helpfully provided a green line to show the current route of the pull test car. According to his caption:

The pull test car is past the brake fins. There are motors underneath the track to accelerate cars down, through a track switch. Cars are then accelerated further in The Speed Bump to ascend The Spike.

Pulling back over CityWalk, we can see the full coaster track rising over and through the park, with The Spike as its most recognizable component. New walkways are being built around the perimeter of the coaster; the current one under the track is temporary.

Here’s a flyover video of the construction:
