Universal is developing a new service road amid demolition of The Lost Continent at Universal Islands of Adventure, aerial photos by bioreconstruct show.
Lost Continent Demolition

The Treasures of Poseidon gift shop was demolished, leaving just a stone wall around plants near the construction walls. Bioreconstruct’s photo on the right is Treasures of Poseidon prior to demolition.

The store operated as the gift shop for Poseidon’s Fury, which was demolished earlier this summer. Crews are now preparing the large empty site for future development. Some steel next to a puddle is the remains of the gift shop, while concrete debris is near the edge of the site.

The former Sindbad theater was also demolished. That site has various supplies and trailers for crew members, including a square of green trailers for a temporary First Aid location.

In bioreconstruct’s above photo, a yellow arrow points at the current First Aid station. As we previously reported, the current First Aid building will be demolished. Between the buildings, crews are creating a new service road for access to the temporary First Aid trailers and backstage areas. This will replace the existing road on the right.

At the back of the Poseidon’s Fury demolition site, the new retaining wall has been extended, running parallel with a ramp into the lagoon.

Behind Mythos Restaurant, a yellow barrier is in place in the water, ready to catch debris during future demolition in the area. Mythos is set to close permanently next year.
