New Disney World snacks are like a whole event! They could completely change how we feel about certain Disney World restaurants, and can save long-forgotten spaces that we usually skip.
Outer Rim
A popular Disney World bar over at the Contemporary Resort is Outer Rim, and the dining spot just added two new snacks to its menu. Of course, we had to go find out if this was going to be a new Disney World gem, or something you should avoid entirely. As always, we’re taking you with us in this snack review!
The first thing we tried was the Elote Dip for $12.00. For starters, the chips are absolutely out of this world. They are thick enough to hold up against the dip, and the chips can dip as deep as you want without breaking. These are housemaid kettle potato chips and they were the perfect chip for our dipping adventure.
Elote Dip
The chips are seasoned well, but are not over-salted. They are also super crunchy, and they are almost a tad well done, which we’re not mad about at all. It actually helped to make them perfect for picking up as much dip as you want in any given bite.
The chips are so tasty!
The dip is delicious, but if you’re not a fan of cold dips, you might be put off by the dip since it’s served chilled. As huge fans of all things corn, we absolutely loved the dip. It was so creamy, full of herbs, and full of corn flavor. You can taste that the corn is roasted and roasted well; all the sweetness of the corn comes out in every bite. You can also taste the red onions and all the herbs that they used. It isn’t overly creamy; it just lets the corn shine through. You’re gonna find yourself going back over and over again for more bites of this dip. It’s THAT good!
The dip is so good!
Then we tried the Charcuterie Board for $17.00. Although this is not the most imaginative charcuterie board we’ve ever had, it is full of very tasty bites. As with any charcuterie board, the best part is the “choose your own adventure” aspect, and they have really nice quality meat, from salami to prosciutto.
Charcuterie Board
We found the meat was nicely sliced and prepared, and wasn’t too fatty. The Parmesan is quite good, as is the creamy Gouda. The nice surprises of this board are the spiced cheese in the center. It is like an Alouette cheese, and the fruit paste, which really brings to life the taste of the prosciutto when paired with the Gouda.
So good!
The biggest surprise of the board is the pesto crostini. These are toasted perfectly enough just to spread an amount of pesto on them to really bring to life the flavors of the meats and the cheeses. These were our favorite compliments. The water crackers were fine, but the crostini are delicious, and of course, we could not pass up the Marcona almonds. Those were so buttery and delicious. Overall, this is a very solid charcuterie board and is absolutely perfect to go with any cocktail on their menu.
We love this!
These new additions to their menu are long overdue. This has always been the one lounge that has been left out as far as snacks to be included with their cocktails. It is so refreshing that they have finally brought some to this location, as it always felt a little forlorn next to some of the other themed lounges.
