Hey Disney at home friends! There is something about a Disney Parks recipe that makes me want to get straight into the kitchen, especially when it gives me an excuse to bring a little EPCOT magic home. I’m always thinking about the next trip, but I’m also a big believer in finding ways to enjoy Disney in between those vacations. And with the weekend here, I’ve got a rather delicious idea for how to do just that. We’re heading to Germany for this special edition of the Sunday Cooking Sesh, formerly held on Saturdays, but this time, a Sunday night in with the family just felt right!
Schinkennudeln (I’m so glad to be typing that one and not trying to pronounce it!) is back at the 2026 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. This hearty German pasta gratin, made with ham, onions, and cheese, is part of Emile’s Fromage Montage, the festival’s popular cheese-themed stroll. Disney Parks Blog has shared the recipe, giving us the chance to recreate a dish inspired by the Germany pavilion without having to wait until our next Walt Disney World vacation. And really, who needs an excuse to try something new for dinner when Disney is involved?

Schinkennudeln Recipe
Makes 8-10 servings
Ingredients
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Pinch of ground white pepper
- Pinch of nutmeg
- 1/2 cup Swiss cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup white cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 pound cooked elbow macaroni
Optional: 2 cups diced ham
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375°F. Spray a 16- x 9-inch baking dish with nonstick spray.
- Whisk together cream, eggs, salt, pepper, and nutmeg in a large bowl. Toss cheeses together in a small bowl until combined; remove 1 cup cheese and set aside. Stir remaining cheeses into cream mixture.
- Cook macaroni until just tender; drain and add cream mixture, stirring immediately. Pour mixture into prepared baking dish. Cover with foil.
- Bake 30 minutes. Remove foil and sprinkle reserved cheese over top of noodles. Bake 15 minutes longer.
- Cool 10 minutes before cutting into squares. Serve warm.
To add protein to this dish, add 2 cups of diced ham to the macaroni mixture before baking.
Now, here’s where I’d take this idea one step further. Rather than simply making dinner and calling it a night, why not turn it into a Disney family movie night? Get everyone involved in the kitchen, bring this EPCOT-inspired dish to the table, then settle in with a Disney movie and a few extra snacks to round off the weekend. It’s this time of year when I start making trial dishes for my holiday entertaining, and to be honest, the trial phase is one of my favorites!
The Parks might be where so many of our memories begin, but there’s no reason the Disney experience has to stop when we head home. So, give this German-inspired dish a try, pick out your movie, and make a night of it. Just don’t be surprised if dinner leaves you thinking about your next walk around World Showcase!
