Aerial photographer bioreconstruct shared a rare look at the refurbishment of the surf pool and other areas at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park.
Typhoon Lagoon Refurbishment

Bioreconstruct’s photos showcase the giant wave pool, a.k.a. the Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool. Crews have drained the pool and the surrounding lazy river of water. Panels running across the pool are protective covers for construction vehicles to move through the empty pool without damaging the surface.

There is paneling and scaffolding at the deep end of the pool, in front of the dam structure where waves are generated. For reference, below is what the structure looks like from the ground.

Crews are probably repainting and otherwise renovating the dam.
Typhoon Lagoon closed in early September for its annual refurbishment. Disney’s Blizzard Beach water park is open at this time instead.
