We recently tried the Espresso Martini Gelato Milkshake and the Maple-Pecan Bourbon Milkshake, now available at the Whispering Canyon Cafe at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.
Espresso Martini Gelato Shake – $19
Freshly brewed Joffrey’s Espresso, Absolut Vodka, Mozart Chocolate Liqueur, and French Vanilla Gelato topped with Sweet Cream

This was a very light and creamy milkshake with subtle hints of liquor and coffee. It was definitely a very good and tasty adult drink. We could taste the heavier flavors, but they complement the rest of the shake rather than overtaking it. We highly recommend this!
The shake can be quite filling, so we recommend getting it at the end of your meal so guests don’t spoil their brunch or dinner.
Guests who don’t enjoy a normal espresso, martini, coffee, or vodka would not enjoy this drink.

Maple-Pecan Bourbon Milkshake – $18
Buffalo Trace Kentucky Straight Bourbon, French Vanilla Gelato, and Maple and Pecan Syrups topped with Whipped Cream, Caramel, and Pecans

We don’t know who thought mixing bourbon with milk was a great idea, and unfortunately, we don’t think it was well executed here. The bourbon completely overtakes the drink to the point where we couldn’t taste the maple, pecans, or even the vanilla.
It was heavy, bitter, and made us feel gross after drinking it. However, if guests enjoy bourbon and milkshakes, this might be the treat for them. Otherwise, stick with the non-alcoholic version, which is also available.
Guests should be warned that the bourbon hits hard, especially on that first sip.
