From Main Street to Magic Kingdom’s farthest corners, the parks are overflowing with seasonal snacks, sips, and sweets, and we made it our mission to taste as many as humanly possible (all in the name of research, of course). Some of these treats left us dreaming about our next visit. Others? Well, let’s just say not every pumpkin is destined to become a carriage.
We’ve sorted through the spiced, the sugary, and the downright strange so you don’t have to waste a single snack credit on something that isn’t worth it. There are still plenty of fall treats to be had at Disney World, and we’re bringing you our honest review of some right now!
Plaza Restaurant — Steamboat Willie Milkshake
This milkshake is $13 and is all about cookies and cream. The rim is coated in buttercream and crumbled Oreo pieces, and we loved picking them off and dragging them through the frosting. It was a little too sweet for our palate, but we can see kids going absolutely nuts over it.
The shake itself is thinner than a classic milkshake, closer to thick chocolate milk, but it still delivers plenty of cookies-and-cream flavor. That makes it lighter and easier to drink than a really thick shake, and it’s still more than enough to share with a buddy. Be warned: there’s a ton of whipped cream on top. The cookie was a standard sugar cookie with thick fondant icing. It was tasty, but nothing beyond a typical grocery store cookie.
Overall, this treat is a stunner to look at and very tasty. It would pair well with the club sandwich or anything else on the menu. One more heads-up: it’s considered a dessert, so unlike other milkshakes, it can’t be substituted for a drink on the Disney Dining Plan.
Astrofizz — Orange Slushy Float
We grabbed this for $7.49. Separately, the orange slush and the rainbow ice pearls are both good. Together, not so much. The slush is the same Fanta orange slush you can get anywhere: sweet, citrusy, and acidic.
The pearls were mushy and chewy rather than the melt-on-your-tongue texture we expected. They dissolved into the slush extremely fast (we swear these ice desserts know when we’re getting content) and quickly tainted the flavor of both. The result tasted like sugar-free orange Jell-O mixed with every other Jell-O flavor. Maybe that’s your thing!
The dye also melted off the pearls and turned the slush into a brown sludge that stopped appealing to us almost immediately. We can’t recommend it, but if it sounds good to you, enjoy it quickly.
Sunshine Tree Terrace — Orange Bird Sunshine Twist
This $8.49 treat swirls orange DOLE Whip and vanilla ice cream together for a creamsicle flavor. It’s citrusy and a little acidic, similar to Fanta orange, but the vanilla ice cream balances it well, especially once everything starts melting together.
The crunchy pearls are like tiny cereal puffs, adding crunch to the creamy bites, and there are quite a few on top. They have a slight orange flavor, but the strongest orange comes from the DOLE Whip.
The cookie on top is nothing special if you’ve had the Disney sugar cookies that come with certain items, but this one was fresher and softer than most we’ve had. If you like orange desserts, creamsicle flavors, or Orange Bird, this is a must-get. It’s also a large portion, similar in size to the Lava Float.
Sunset Boulevard Snack Cart — Golden Frozen Flame
We picked this up for $6.59. Have you ever dreamed your POG juice could make you sneeze? That the sweet blend of passion fruit, orange, and guava could suddenly burn the roof of your mouth and sinuses enough to cause a sneezing fit after two sips? We have the drink for you. The Golden Frozen Flame is frozen POG lemonade with honey and chili, and it’s almost our favorite drink they’ve ever released. Who wouldn’t love a frozen POG beverage?
Right up until the last moment, it’s a dream. Then comes the chile powder, which tastes like something from your grandma’s old spice rack, saved from a box-top giveaway in the mid-1970s. We love anything that evokes time in Grandma’s kitchen, but this one brings back only sad memories.
Connections Eatery — S’mores Gelato Milkshake
This s’mores milkshake is made with Belgian chocolate and French vanilla gelato, topped with toasted marshmallow, chocolate shavings, and a graham cracker. It’s available for $8.49. It took three cast members to handle this glob of freshly toasted marshmallow straight out of the oven. The hot marshmallow turned the shake into a puddle and dripped everywhere before we had taken 10 steps.
Messy as it was, the marshmallow was absolutely worth it. It tasted like a homemade s’more fresh off the fire, with a smoky, gooey interior and a dark, crunchy exterior. The portion was generous enough that marshmallow came through in quite a few bites.
The shake itself has a lighter, airier chocolate flavor with a subtle hint of vanilla. Once melted, it reminded us of chocolate milk, with the s’mores flavor coming more from the toppings than the shake. The chocolate shavings added a little crunch and minor sweetness, but most sank to the bottom. The graham cracker got soggy quickly and lost its crunch, but it still added a warm, slightly spiced flavor.
The star here is the roasted marshmallow, and it’s worth getting for that alone. Everything else is a bonus. Mess aside, we know families will love this as long as it’s enjoyed quickly and indoors!
Snack Cart Near Connections — Peaches and Cream
This is a peach purée blended with lemon, vanilla, and oat milk, topped with sweet cream cold foam. You can get it for $6.99. The presentation is gorgeous. Three different people stopped us to ask where we got it. The cold foam starts out sitting on top, creating an eye-catching layered look, then gradually blends into the drink over about five minutes. The foam is canned and optional, as the cast member asked if we wanted it.
The drink has a frozen, slushy consistency that holds its structure for a while. The strongest flavor is sweet and tart peach, followed by a subtle lemon. The vanilla, oat milk, and cold foam mix into a smooth, creamy sweetness that balances the tartness, and the overall effect is almost like a peach creamsicle.
Over time, the cold foam can curdle and get chunky, though it didn’t affect the flavor. Ours had mostly melted by the time we drank it from sitting out, but if enjoyed right away, we’re sure the slush would be icier, with the foam adding a thick, creamy contrast. If you want a gorgeous, sweet, and fruity slush for a warm day, this one is perfect. It’s not very messy and makes for a refreshing treat.
