As we creep closer to Christmas, crews are starting to prepare “it’s a small world” at Disneyland for its holiday overlay.
“it’s a small world” Holiday Prep

Christmas lights are now visible on the ride’s famous facade, although they won’t be illuminated for a few more weeks.

The string lights mostly blend in with the facade, but if you look close, you’ll see them trimming the edges of walls and decorations. They’re around the ride’s moving clock face, which will get a Santa hat later in the season.

In the above photo, the lights are most obvious on the gold section in the middle.

“it’s a small world” will be closed beginning October 30 for its complete transformation into “it’s a small world” Holiday, which will open on November 13, 2026.
