We love talking about their park openings, but we tend to shed a tear when it comes to sharing closures, since it’s never a good day when a beloved family tradition closes.
Your time is running out to visit Wild Waves Theme & Water Park before it closes, so if it’s been on your list, now’s the time!
Located near Seattle, Washington, this theme park has been through many names, including Enchanted Village, Enchanted Parks, Wild Waves, Enchanted Village, Wild Waves Theme Park, and Wild Waves and Enchanted Theme Park, and several owners, including Six Flags for a spell. Wild Waves Theme & Water Park will be closing on November 1st.
The park’s current owners, Premier Parks, sent a press release in December 2025 saying the park would close at the end of the 2026 operating season. The park employs about 35 full-time staff and around 800 seasonal workers.
The press release said that the company was grateful for “guests, team members, and the community of Federal Way for supporting Wild Waves and creating so many thrilled and great memories with families and friends.” They also explained that the “rising costs of ongoing operations since reopening after the COVID shutdown have generated millions in losses, which forces us to discontinue operations at the end of the 2026 season.”
The park continued to run throughout the 2026 season, with the rides operational and even the Fright Fest in October. After 50 years, the Wild Waves Theme & Water Park is set to close on November 1st.
Owner of the property, Jeff Stock, said that his group recognizes the “deep history and emotional connection many residents have with the park” and is “committed to ensuring a respectful transition while planning a project that will bring meaningful lasting benefits to the area. Plans for the site are in the preliminary stages, with goals that benefit the city and surrounding areas. Additional details will be released as the project moves through planning and community review processes.”
Right now, a warehouse complex called the Podium I-5 project, or Project Podium, is set to take its place. They will completely clear the amusement park site to build a massive logistics hub. The project is set to finish in 2028.
