Star-Lord and his crew are heading to Nintendo Switch 2 with Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Encore Edition, launching November 5, 2026.
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Encore Edition

The Nintendo Switch 2-exclusive edition brings the single-player action-adventure game to the console with optimized performance, refined controls, and new outfits for Star-Lord, Drax, Gamora, Rocket, and Groot. The costumes take inspiration from 1980s glam rock, giving the team a new look for their journey across the galaxy.
Developed by Eidos-Montréal, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy originally launched in October 2021. Players control Peter Quill, better known as Star-Lord, in an original story that follows the team as they face a threat to the galaxy. Combat combines Star-Lord’s blasters with commands that activate his teammates’ unique abilities, while dialogue choices influence interactions among the Guardians.
Music is also a major part of the adventure, with a soundtrack featuring licensed 1980s hits, an orchestral score, and original songs recorded exclusively for the game. The original release won an award for Best Narrative at The Game Awards 2021.
More Disney gaming content is on the way this November, including Disney Dreamlight Valley: The Keepsake Sea, a paid expansion featuring Captain Jack Sparrow, Megara, and Milo Thatch.
