Depending on where you want to stay at the hotel, there is a perfect room for every guest traveling to Disney World. Looking to be closest to the lobby? There’s a room for that. How about farthest away from the elevators? They’ve got that, too! And if you’d like to be a short walk away from the pool? Don’t worry — there’s a room for everything!
We recently stopped by Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa to see which rooms are the best, so you don’t have to! Come check it out so you know which rooms to request on your next visit!
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is located on Seven Seas Lagoon and is just a monorail or boat ride, or a short walk away from the Magic Kingdom. This resort is one of Disney’s Deluxe resorts, offering great views of and close proximity to the park, signature dining locations, and special perks for guests, like Extended Evening Hours.
The main building is home to a lot of these dining locations, including Grand Floridian Cafe, 1900 Park Fare, Citricos, Victoria & Albert’s, and more! This is also where you’ll find the quick-service dining location, the lounges, the gift shops, and the transportation to the parks and Disney Springs. If staying as close to these locations as possible, you’ll want to request rooms 4201 to 4209, 4301 to 4330, and 4401 to 4430. The suites located in this area are room numbers 4001 to 4008 and 4021 to 4030.
If you’re looking for a little more quiet (since the lobby can be quite loud), but still want quick access to the main building, rooms 8119 and 8121 are a great option! This room is located directly across from the entrance to the main building, and the quiet pool is located just outside! In terms of transportation, it’s most closely located to the boat launch.
Both of these rooms are located on the ground floor and have a great view of the Magic Kingdom! They also have small balconies that jut out from the building, and since they are facing away from the hustle and bustle of the resort, it’s a little more private.
Disney Vacation Club Members will likely be staying in the Big Pine Key building. The rooms most closely located to the main building and right across from the quiet pool are rooms 9119 and 9121. Staying here will also give you great views of the Polynesian Village Resort.
Guest rooms 6101 to 6424 will be located in the Sugar Loaf building. While these rooms aren’t a far walk from the main building or the quiet pool, the views aren’t as good as the other rooms above. You’ll likely be seeing the marina, another building of the resort, or the quiet pool. If views don’t matter to you, request these rooms, but if you’re hoping for views of the Magic Kingdom or the Polynesian Resort across Seven Seas Lagoon, we’d recommend requesting other rooms.
Rooms 5141, 5144, and 5145 are a bit of a longer walk from the main building but have close access to the quiet pool and great views of the Magic Kingdom. These are located at the end of the hallway on the first floor.
A short walk past the building with these rooms is the Conch Key building. This building offers a conveniently short walk to the Magic Kingdom boat launch and quiet pool. Rooms 7127, 7130, and 7131 offer views of Magic Kingdom directly across the water. These rooms are also located at the end of the hallway, but for this view, the extra few steps to the main building are worth it!
The Disney Vacation Club Villas offer their own arrival area, so you can easily drive up, drop off your luggage, and head to your room almost immediately. No need for long walks when it comes to your check-in and check-out days. This building is reasonably close to the main building and is adjacent to the main pool. It’s also directly across the water from the Magic Kingdom.
Room 1101 looks out toward Seven Seas Lagoon while rooms 1102 and 1104 face toward the Polynesian Resort. Although it’s directly across the water from the Magic Kingdom, staying in these rooms won’t guarantee a view of the park, as the island in the middle of Seven Seas Lagoon may block the view.
If you’re looking to request these rooms, you have a couple of options: You can call ahead and ask a Cast Member to put a note in, but we’ve found the best way to do it is at the front desk when you arrive at the hotel. Remember, your request is NOT guaranteed, and even if it does get granted, you may need to wait a bit longer for the room to be ready. But it doesn’t hurt to ask!
