Crews have removed stained glass and other decorative exterior elements from the Ghirardelli Soda Fountain & Chocolate Shop building in Disney Springs. The location is undergoing a major refurbishment.
Ghirardelli Refurbishment

Since our last update, pieces of the front wall have been removed, exposing the building’s steel frame and insulation. A light was also removed and there’s a small square where it used to be.

The wall facing Basin now has red plywood where there were previously stained glass windows. The diamond-patterned panel and “Ghirardelli” sign remain above the plywood.

On the other side of the building, some kind of metal frame is being constructed in front of the wall. Notice the tall metal pole in the center and another shorter pole to the right.

Above is what the building looked like before refurbishment.
A temporary Ghirardelli is open in Town Center during the construction.
This Ghirardelli location has operated since 1996. The renovation will add indoor seating, help reduce wait times, and more. It’s expected to reopen in spring 2027.
