Coaxium is a rare, powerful substance used to fuel hyperspace travel in the Star Wars galaxy. Mined on worlds such as Kessel, its unrefined form is highly unstable and can explode if overheated or agitated. The valuable material is central to the heists in both Solo: A Star Wars Story and the nearby attraction Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run.

The replica canister recreates the handheld cylindrical containers seen in Solo, with a transparent upper chamber and a long silver-colored body accented by gold trim. Despite its metallic appearance, the canister is made of plastic. Rest assured there is no threat of explosion from this plastic replica, though we still recommend careful handling given the price tag.

Weathered detailing gives the exterior a worn, industrial look. Raised gold rails extend along the lower portion, while oval recesses and a gold grille add detail to the silver housing.

The translucent chamber has a blue-green tint when unlit and glows bright blue when switched on. The light also shines through the grille below the chamber.

A switch on the bottom controls three modes: pulse, marked “I”; steady illumination, marked “II”; and off, marked “O.” A screw-secured battery compartment is also located on the base, which is marked for three AAA batteries.

The design may look familiar to guests who picked up the Coaxium Sipper released at Disney’s Hollywood Studios for Star Wars Day in 2025. That souvenir also featured silver-and-gold detailing and a light-up interior cylinder. This new replica is noticeably smaller, though its $79.99 price is considerably higher than the sipper’s original $24.79 price.

We found the Light-Up Coaxium Canister at Black Spire Outfitters in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, which originally tasked guests with stealing a shipment of Coaxium for Hondo Ohnaka, received an update earlier this year that presented a variety of missions themed to The Mandalorian and Grogu.
