A ceiling fan in the queue for Stardust Racers at Universal Epic Universe fell, reportedly hitting a guest, on Sunday, October 18, 2026.
Stardust Racers Ceiling Fan Falls

Shane Mercier, a.k.a. Station Tested, shared a TikTok video of the fan on the ground. It was stuck in a space between a wall and railing of the queue, one blade under the corner of the wall.

A railing on a work ramp above was damaged by the falling fan. Mercier guessed the fan weighed 20 – 30 lbs and said it missed guests.
However, commenter @ballistickid16 said he was about four feet away from the fan when it fell and that it did hit a guest. He said paramedics treated the guest before the queue was evacuated.
The incident took place within a few hours of the ride opening and commenters say it was closed for the rest of the day. Thrill Data does not show wait times for the ride after 12:28 p.m., indicating that’s when it closed.
Commenters also said ceiling fans in the rest of the park were turned off out of an abundance of caution.
Thankfully, Sunday was a relatively cool day for Orlando. It was also windy, which may have contributed to the fan’s fall.
As of writing on October 19, Epic Universe has opened for early park admission to hotel guests. Stardust Racers is not available as part of early entry but the Universal Orlando Resort app does say it is “delayed.” The park and coaster are scheduled to open at 10 a.m. to all guests.
Stardust Racers has faced much worse controversy. Earlier this month, we reported on a mother suing Universal over her child losing consciousness and sustaining injuries on the coaster. Last year, several other lawsuits also claimed guests received injuries on the coaster. In September 2025, Kevin Rodriguez Zavala died from “multiple blunt impact injuries” on the ride. The final report of Zavala’s case stated that no criminal acts occurred in his death.
