The Ridge Jewel, stolen from the Society of Explorers and Adventurers (S.E.A.) long ago, is now on display in Disneyland. There is also an oar on display, as well as a souvenir ticket guests can grab during their visit. These displays come with Walt Disney Imagineering’s reveal of Hazel Louise Hightower, a new S.E.A. character.
S.E.A. Additions
Ridge Jewel

The jewel can be seen in the ticket booth outside Pioneer Mercantile in Frontierland. The store recently underwent a refurbishment.

The geode jewel is on a shelf in the back of the ticket booth. Filled with rainbow crystals, the Ridge Jewel was discovered in Rainbow Ridge, the fictional mining town where Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is set. Harrison Hightower III, the main character of Tokyo DisneySea’s Tower of Terror, stole the jewel.

Harrison’s daughter, Hazel, was later rejected from S.E.A. because of her father’s disgraceful past. So she set out to prove the society wrong. Using her time travel invention the Timeskipper, she took the Ridge Jewel and led S.E.A. on a scavenger hunt, beginning at D23 and continuing over the past several weeks with riddles that fans have been solving.

On Hazel’s adventures, her anger at S.E.A. subsided, and she ultimately returned the jewel, earning herself a place in S.E.A. A sketched image of Hazel returning the jewel is on the desk inside the ticket booth. Her younger self is also seen next to her father.

Other props in the ticket booth include a toy train, lanterns, pocket watch, conductor’s hat, a guest book and pilot’s certificate for the Mark Twain Riverboat, riverboat miniature, and horse statue.

On the wall is a S.E.A. poster with a QR code leading to Disney Parks Blog’s post about Hazel Hightower.
Souvenir Ticket

Guests can pick up a souvenir ticket from Hazel by scanning their MagicBand+ at this S.E.A. tappoint or asking a Cast Member. A train sound effect plays as the ticket is dispensed.

One side features the S.E.A. logo with space for guests to write their name, the date, and voyage details, including whether they traveled by aeroplane, horseback, motorbike, ship, train, or other.
On the back is a message from Hazel Hightower with various S.E.A.-related imagery:
This ticket is my gift to you. Use it to decide where your next adventure will take you. Write your own story.
Hazel Hightower Oar

There’s also a new surprise at The Tropical Hideaway. Here, guests can see oars representing all the members of S.E.A. Because she recovered the Ridge Jewel, Hazel Hightower has been added to the ranks.

Her oar is on the far right in the row.

Sections of the oar’s wood are dyed purple and black. Attached to the oar is an open pocket watch and a plaque.

The watch is set to the time 11:32. On top is the sculpted image of a train engine.

Hazel’s name, the S.E.A. logo, and “River Thames” are carved on the plaque. The year at the bottom, which appears to be 1888, is scratched out.
