The refurbishment of Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows has been extended into 2027.

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Refurbishment Timeline

The resort’s refurbishment was originally scheduled through the end of 2026. Walt Disney World has updated the notice on the Polynesian Village Resort webpage to now say the refurbishment will continue through early 2027.

The notice also states Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace will remain closed through October.

Here’s the full quote:

Through early 2027, some areas of Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows are being refurbished. This work includes the reconfiguration of the front entrance roadway. Additionally, some views of the theme parks and other surrounding areas may be impacted. Most Resort dining, pools and amenities will remain available.

Through late October, Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will be temporarily closed due to refurbishment work at the Grand Ceremonial House.

While construction activity will be noticeable during daytime hours, efforts will be made to minimize disruptions. Please allow for extra travel time when arriving at or leaving the Resort.

The new roadway entrance opened last December. In September, Disney filed two permits for the abandoned Tangaroa Terrace. In June, they cut down the historic kukui nut tree.
