Painting and theming are the biggest visible updates at Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge in our latest construction update of the new resort opening next summer at Walt Disney World.
Lakeshore Lodge Construction Update
Main Lobby
Already one of Lakeshore Lodge’s most recognizable features, the angular lobby building is looking closer to completion, with the floor-to-ceiling window glass almost fully exposed.
The dramatic roofs that top the porte cochere are still covered with Polyglass waterproofing membrane; in the background is a newly completed mural.
General Painting Updates
Final paint colors are now visible on more sections
Sage green roofs and greige walls with some contrasting black cover the hotel towers, with some larger walls covered by vibrant green murals of a stylized forest motif.
On the left in the image above, the faux wood panelling has begun its transformation on this section from unfinished to a deep mahogany color.
Along with painting, we saw workers doing balcony work on some of the towers. Others already have finished themed balconies, which we cover further down.
Feature Pool Theming Installation
We can see several themed features of the main pool area are now in place, including oversized green-and-brown cattails and blades of grass.
Here’s a better view of the oversized grass and cattails that make up the children’s water play area of the pool. A section of the blue-green water slide is lying on the ground in front.
A-Frame Cabins
The A-frame cabins along the lake look almost fully externally complete with finished paintwork.
Window installation is also nearly fully complete, although a couple of cabins are still being closed up.
Here’s another look at one of the almost completed cabins.
Forest-Themed Balcony Installation
The balcony guardrails being installed all along and around the towers are made of dark gray-brown metal with cutout abstract natural patterns. The center balconies feature more decorative patterns that vary by floor, so from a distance they resemble a forest: the upper floors’ balconies have a leafy canopy motif, while the center balconies feature branches and trunks.
The balconies that wrap around the sides have a much simpler motif with guardrails of alternating vertical lines at slight angles.
These same themed balcony railings have been installed on other towers as well.
Themed Painting in Progress on Buildings
Murals made up of leaves and trees continue to be painted in shades of sage, medium, and dark green; this one is partially complete.
Boat Transportation Dock
The dock is the same as our last update; however, the buildings hiding behind the trees have finished balcony guardrails and sections with completed paint.
Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge

The new Disney Vacation Club resort is set to open July 1, 2027. First announced in 2018, Lakeshore Lodge was originally going to be called Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge, but plans were stalled during the COVID-19 pandemic. Years later, after the resort was thought to be canceled, Disney began filing permits. The Disney Vacation Club resort was then officially announced in 2024 with its new name, Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge.

You can get a bird’s-eye view of the new resort in three dimensions at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, where a scale model of Lakeshore Lodge is now on display in the Walt Disney Presents theater. The resort will be a waterfront retreat where guests will “discover the wonder of nature through the artistry of Disney storytelling.” Its decor and theming will be “inspired by the majesty of nature and its enduring influence on Disney artists.”

Cash price points for Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge rooms were recently revealed. For more about the accommodations, read our coverage of Lakeshore Lodge room rates, the latest guest-room concept art and design details, and the resort’s room types and film-inspired theming.
