When it comes to reboots and remakes of old movies and shows, fans are divided. Some like them, while others wish original content would be made instead. Regardless, they just keep coming!

The beloved musical dramedy series, Glee, is officially coming back. After premiering on Fox in 2009, the show went on for six seasons before concluding in 2015. Well, it looks like the show isn’t over quite yet, as the reboot has been greenlit and will be available on Disney+ and Hulu.

If you aren’t familiar with Glee, the show follows a group of choir members from Lima, Ohio, who deal with the highs and lows of high school. We’re sure you’ve either seen the show, know someone who has, or have heard of it. It’s considered a cult classic for many reasons. Despite ending in 2015, the show is still popular today, as is its music, which averages 4.1 million monthly listeners on Spotify, according to Variety.

We wish we could give you information on the new plot, but Disney hasn’t shared any information besides the fact that the series will be produced by 20th Television and will air on Hulu and Disney+. No, Disney also hasn’t shared any casting information, though sources say Lea Michelle will be back as Rachel Berry and Heather Morris will return as Brittany S. Pierce. We’re hoping that a bunch of the original stars will come back, and we’d honestly be surprised if they didn’t.

“I’ve been in touch with around 10 of the original cast members,” said Ryan Murphy, co-writer of Glee, in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. The same interview where he confirmed he’d just written a reboot script with collaborators Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan. “It’s very sweet, and they all had a lot of questions, but they all were very enthusiastic about the idea.”

Chris Colfer, an actor in Glee, pointed out that rebooting Glee would be difficult following Naya Rivera’s death in 2020. “It was a really tough show to do, and it would be really hard to do it now that Naya [Rivera] is gone. But I do know that Glee fans would probably come after me with pitchforks and jazz hands if I said no. So I don’t know, but hopefully I’ll have more information and I can actually think about it.”
