The Citizens of Hollywood, Galactic Starcruiser characters, and more returned to Disney’s Hollywood Studios for a private buyout event on October 20.
Private Buyout Event at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
The park closed at 5 p.m. for a park buyout by the Gartner IT Symposium/Xpo 2026. The conference took over the park from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Tuesday.
A video shared to Instagram showed some highlights of what guests got to experience during the event.
The Citizens of Hollywood were out and about throughout the evening, as were several Galactic Starcruiser Saja characters that guests haven’t seen in a few years. The Saja trainers were most notably known as lightsaber trainers aboard the Halcyon.
In “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” the Empire destroys the Jedi temple on Jedha, which was under the protection of a group known as the Guardians of the Whills. Though their survivors were scattered throughout the galaxy, the Guardians remained dedicated to preserving knowledge of the Force. Descendants of this group, known as the Saja, found safe haven aboard the starcruiser and used one of its training pods to teach the ancient art of the lightsaber. Though not Jedi themselves, the Saja can sense the Force in others and teach them how to find their own connection to this mystical power.
Multiple bands entertained guests around the park, and a DJ was set up in front of the Chinese Theater.
Founders Day was also observed during the event, which is when celebrants dine on a bird and hang special lanterns. There were banners on display, and characters wore sashes during the event.

Citizens of Hollywood were a live street performance that occurred every day at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Performances varied and included a game show or a maintenance crew. Guests were invited to participate during the lively, 15-minute shows.
When Disney’s Hollywood Studios reopened in July 2020 after the Covid-19 shutdown, many hoped that the roaming improv characters would return to the park, as they’ve been a staple of its entertainment lineup since 1989.
In October of 2020, they were let go as entertainment layoffs swept through the company.
