Disney is currently in early development on a fifth film for its Halloweentown series.

Not much is currently known about the plot for the new film. Halloweentown 5 is being written by Lily Houghton and Ryan Koehn based on characters by Paul Bernbaum, who wrote the first Halloweentown film in 1998. Casting is not confirmed either, though multiple actors from the original movies have previously expressed interest in reprising their roles. If greenlit, the new movie will air on Disney+ and Disney Channel.

Halloweentown is a television series of four fantasy films released as Disney Channel Original Movies: Halloweentown (1998), Halloweentown II: Kalabar’s Revenge (2001), Halloweentown High (2004), and Return to Halloweentown (2006). All movies are available to stream on Disney+.

The first film centers on Marnie (Kimberly J. Brown), who learns she is a witch on her 13th Halloween and is transported to Halloweentown, a magical place where ghosts, witches, and werewolves live apart from the human world.
