We’ve had a lot of big news coming out of Disney World recently, including new characters coming to Jollywood Nights, new behind-the-scenes looks at park expansions, churro mobile orders, and more. That means you may have missed some of the other news that dropped this week.
Just in case you missed the smaller news stories, though, we’ve got you covered. We’re going to tell you about the quiet announcements Disney World made this week and get you up to speed.
New Baby Animals
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge just welcomed three new baby nyala calves to the world. Right now, they’re spending time with their mom backstage, but maybe soon, they’ll be out on the savannah where everyone can see them. Nyalas are a spiral-horned species of antelope that are native to Southern Africa.
We can’t wait to see them for ourselves, but we hope they have some good bonding moments with their mom.
Beam Signing on Monstropolis Roller Coaster
Disney has a long-standing tradition that Cast Members get to sign a beam while a new ride or attraction is being constructed. Well,Disney Hollywood Studios Cast Members recently got to sign a beam for the new Monstropolis roller coaster, which will be based on the doors chase scene in the first Monsters, Inc. movie.
This is a fun way for Disney Cast Members to leave their permanent mark on the parks.
The Music of EPCOT
If you’ve ever wanted to walk around your house like you walk around EPCOT, or at least get a similar vibe, you’ll want to make sure to grab “The Music of EPCOT” which is available now on music streaming services.
