Directed by Shawn Levy, Starfighter is set five years after The Rise of Skywalker (2019). The screenplay is by Jonathan Tropper (The Adam Project) and the film stars Ryan Gosling and Flynn Gray. We’ve already had a first look at the pair posed with a landspeeder and a boat somewhere in the Mediterranean Sea.

The cast also includes Amy Adams, Aaron Pierre, Simon Bird, Jamael Westman, Daniel Ings, Matt Smith, and Mia Goth.

Starfighter will be released in theaters on May 28, 2027. A few months prior, a restored classic version of Star Wars: A New Hope will be re-released in theaters on February 19, 2027, ahead of the film’s 50th anniversary.

In other Star Wars film news, Taika Waititi confirmed that his Star Wars film has been put “on ice” while he works on other projects.
