Hey Disney doll collectors, we have two new arrivals joining the Disney Designer Doll lineup, and this latest release has something for fans of both a classic Disney Princess and another character who doesn’t always get the collector spotlight! Ariel from The Little Mermaid and Charlotte ‘Lottie’ La Bouff from The Princess and the Frog are the newest additions to Disney’s second annual Dance Series, and while Ariel is certainly a familiar favorite, I am especially excited to see Lottie getting her very first Disney limited-edition Designer Doll. These are not your everyday character dolls, either. The Dance Series takes things in a much more theatrical direction, with original couture-inspired designs that give each character a whole new look. If you enjoy seeing Disney characters reimagined through fashion, you will want to take a closer look at these two.

Let’s start with Ariel, whose new look takes inspiration from something a little unexpected: the flowing movement of jellyfish! Rather than recreating one of her familiar movie outfits, Disney’s designers have imagined what an underwater ballet might look like, using layers of sheer organza, sequins, ruffles, metallic curled ribbon, and iridescent bubble details to create a gown that feels almost weightless. Add a metallic hair accessory, drop earrings, layered gold chains, and those shimmering wristbands, and you have a doll designed to make an impression from every angle. The creative team drew inspiration from vintage dance posters for this year’s collection, with dramatic lighting, expressive poses, and a sense of movement helping tie the releases together. I always enjoy seeing Disney take a character we know so well (in this case, a childhood favorite of mine) and give her an entirely new fashion identity, and Ariel’s underwater-inspired couture certainly offers something different for collectors.

Now, let’s talk about Lottie, because this release deserves a little extra attention! Charlotte La Bouff has plenty of personality in The Princess and the Frog, and her Designer Doll debut embraces every bit of that larger-than-life Southern belle energy. Her elaborate ball gown features satin layers, bows, ruffles, sheer organza sleeves and a full tulle underskirt, with satin gloves, strappy shoes, faceted gems, faux pearls, a handheld fan and a tiara completing the look. There is even a lovely little detail for fans who remember Lottie’s childhood cat, Marcel, whose face appears embroidered on the skirt and sculpted onto one of the shoe straps. I think those character-specific touches are what make collecting these designer editions so interesting. They go beyond simply putting a character in a fancy dress and give fans something to discover as they look more closely. With Lottie finally receiving her own limited-edition doll, this could be a particularly exciting release for The Princess and the Frog collectors.

Both dolls arrive in collector-focused packaging featuring gold foil accents, ribbon details, and sparkling pixie-dust artwork, making them just as appealing for display as the dolls themselves. Ariel went on sale at DisneyStore.com on Friday, October 23rd, 2026, at 8 a.m. Pacific Time, with availability at select Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort locations beginning October 26th. Lottie is scheduled to launch online on October 30th at 8 a.m. Pacific Time and is already available at select locations at both resorts. They join an impressive 2026 limited-edition doll lineup that includes Cruella de Vil, Moana and Simea, Padmé Amidala, the Werecat Lady from The Haunted Mansion, Redd from Pirates of the Caribbean, and Cinderella in a Walt Disney World 55th Anniversary design. With limited-edition releases, timing is always worth keeping an eye on, especially if one of these dolls has caught your attention. I would be particularly interested to see how collectors respond to Lottie’s debut, because a first Designer Doll release for a character like her is the kind of thing that can make a collection feel extra special, especially if you are displaying her next to a Designer Tiana Doll…
