A portion of the lobby at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside is currently closed for refurbishment, but all amenities remain available.
Port Orleans Riverside Refurbishment
Black curtains block a significant portion of the check-in and guest services area. This is on the right when entering the resort’s main building. Check-in and guest services are still available at the far end of the room.

The restrooms in this area are closed so a sign points guests to the restrooms at the River Roost bar instead. The guest mailbox usually available here has been relocated to Fulton’s General Store, the resort gift shop.

The curtains don’t reach all the way to the tall ceiling, so we could see some construction equipment, including a platform. There are signs of paint work on the columns within the construction zone. In our photo above, two columns on the right have yellow around their gold highlights.

Columns at the back of the room have blue painter’s tape around the gold. The back wall has also been painted gray — possibly a primer and not a new color. On the left, you can see the original pale yellow wall color with a green stripe above.

The white molding and golden decorations on the wall have not been painted. The chandeliers and ceiling fans (which are a style called punkahs) remain operational.

For reference, here is what this area of the lobby looked like before the refurbishment. Seating is still available in the option sections of the lobby.
The webpage for Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside still says refurbishment of guest rooms and public areas would last through “mid-2027”, even though it’s now October.
We toured a remodeled Riverside guest room last year. Watch our video below.
