Disney’s supernatural young adult series Coven Academy has been renewed for a second season following the success of the first season.
Coven Academy

Coven Academy follows three teenage witches and their charming warlock peers as they face deadly secrets, dangerous power and forbidden love while ancient forces threaten their city, New Orleans.
The creator, Tim Federle, previously worked as the showrunner on High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. More information about the cast can be found here.
Coven Academy premiered on October 1, 2026, on Freeform. The full season then became available to stream the following day on Disney+ worldwide, along with Hulu and Freeform on Demand in the United States.
The first season contained 21 “short chapters.” According to Variety, it was initially intended to be the first young adult series to air on Disney Channel, before shifting to sit alongside more mature content on Freeform and streaming.
Season 1 hit 20.3 million hours watched globally in its first three weeks of availability on Disney+ and Hulu. The first chapter of the season was also released on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube, where it racked up more than 30 million views. Per Nielsen, “Coven Academy” was the most-watched streaming series among teens age 12-17 through its premiere weekend, and in the top five among all viewers when measuring by views (as opposed to hours watched). Nielsen data also shows that it was frequently co-viewed, with half of viewers age 12-17 and close to two-thirds of viewers age 6-11 watching alongside an adult.
