Disneyland Resort Makes .6B in Ticket Sales, According to Bob Chapek's Book

Disneyland Resort reportedly collects $3.6 billion on theme park admission every year, The Orange County Register calculated based on numbers in Bob Chapek’s memoir.

Disneyland Ticket Sales

In his book, Behind the Castle Walls: My Thirty Years at the Happiest Place on Earth, the former Disney CEO said Disneyland Resort has “somewhere around” 1.1 million Magic Key holders.

The parks drew approximately 27.4 million visitors in 2024, according to the Themed Entertainment Association.

The average Magic Key pass is $1,243 this year. The average daily ticket to one of the parks costs $162.

UBS financial analysts estimate Magic Key holders comprise about 50% of Disneyland Resort attendance.

That means, according to the Orange County Register’s math, Magic Key holders generate approximately $1.4 billion in annual ticket sales and daily visitors generate $2.2 billion.

This is a rare look at specific ticket and attendance numbers for Disneyland Resort. Disney usually only shares revenue and operating income for their Disney Experiences division as a whole.

The $3.6 billion total only accounts for ticket sales, not parking, food, merchandise, hotels, add-ons, and more that guests spend money on during their visits.
