Category 10 Construction Forces Detour to Universal Islands of Adventure

To get from Universal CityWalk to Universal Islands of Adventure, guests now have to take a detour around construction of Luke Combs’ Category 10.

CityWalk Construction

Construction walls have expanded to completely block the main walkway to the theme park’s entrance. The walls begin right next to the Cinnabon kiosk.

Guests are diverted through the back of CityWalk. A sign points them to the walkway between the Universal Legacy Store and Bigfire. After reaching Antojitos Authentic Mexican Food, guests turn back towards the lagoon.

They head back down between Bigfire and Margaritaville. There are two temporary ramps providing wheelchair and stroller access, which would usually be available on the main walkway.

Outside Margaritaville, the walls continue, creating a small path for guests to walk past the construction zone. The walls end at Lone Palm Airport bar, just before the bridge leading to Islands of Adventure.

On the CityWalk map above, we’ve highlighted the available path in yellow and the construction site in red.

Category 10 is scheduled to open in late 2027. It will be the third Category 10 location, following Nashville and Las Vegas locations. Plans call for waterfront views, live music, food, drinks, and several distinct entertainment spaces.
