Disney Experiences chair Thomas Mazloum posted behind-the-scenes photos from recent walkthroughs with Imagineers of Walt Disney World’s many construction sites, including Tropical Americas and Monstropolis.
Thomas Mazloum Tours Walt Disney World Construction Sites
The biggest reveal in Mazloum’s Instagram post is the close-up photo of the elaborate, colorful Mayan temple facade for Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent, which we’ve previously only seen in aerial shots. The heavily themed exterior was sculpted and painted separately before being installed in sections on top of the attraction building that previously housed DINOSAUR.
Other photos show Mazloum on-site in Tropical Americas with Imagineers, reviewing concept art against the steadily progressing construction on Animal Kingdom’s new land.
The final shot shows Mazloum adding his signature to dozens of others on a circular concrete foundation in an area of Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge, the massive new Disney Vacation Club resort under construction on Bay Lake.
Last week I had the chance to walk Monstropolis, Tropical Americas and Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge at Walt Disney World with our incredible Imagineers. These experiences are really taking shape!
Thomas Mazloum succeeded Josh D’Amaro as chairman of Disney Experiences in March 2026 when D’Amaro was made CEO. He had previously been president of Disneyland Resort since March 2025.
