Have you ever wanted to take a relaxing vacation at Disney’s Aulani Resort in Hawaii? Well, winter is coming up, and winter could be one of the best times to visit the more tropical vibes of Oahu. Just think about it…you don’t have to worry about winter weather, you can walk along the beach, you can have a you day in the spa, you can get that famous Mickey-shaped shave ice…doesn’t that sound nice this winter?

However, if you’ve booked an Aulani vacation for January, there’s something you might want to be aware of: filming is set to take place at the resort.
Disney has posted a notice that a national television production will be using part of Ko Olina beach at Aulani for filming from January 23rd through January 28th, 2027. Now, Disney doesn’t say exactly what will be filming, but we have seen American Idol filming at the resort before, so that could be one possibility. Whatever the case, though, you need to be aware that where they’ll be filming will be restricted from guests.

Note that this shouldn’t affect your Aulani vacation too much, though. All activities and amenities will still be available along the rest of the beach. You may see or hear the production take place (how exciting!), but no noise should be heard between 10 PM and 7 AM, so you don’t have to worry about anything waking you up in the middle of the night. If you’ll be staying at Aulani during that time, you will receive an email with more details.

If you are visiting Aulani, we can recommend some food. Obviously, the Shave Ice is a must, but you should also grab a meal and drinks from Olelo Room, a casual meal at Off The Hook, and a character breakfast at Makahiki — The Bounty of the Islands.
