Here at Disney Food Blog, we’re theme park experts who travel often. But even as Orlando International Airport regulars, we can still get confused by some major changes MCO has been implementing recently!
On top of stressful TSA lines and Gate Link construction, the Orlando International Airport is implementing another major change. Two popular airlines have switched terminals!
Starting Thursday, October 29th, Allegiant and Sun Country Airlines will move from Terminal B to Terminal A. Sun Country will now fly out of Gates 1-29, and Allegiant will depart from Gates 30-59. This relocation is permanent, so it’ll remain for holiday and New Year’s travel.
If you’re flying with these airlines, you’ll find ticketing and check-in on Level 3 of Terminal A. This area houses check-in counters, self-service kiosks, and baggage drop services for Southwest, Frontier, Spirit, Virgin Atlantic, Avelo, and now Allegiant and Sun Country Airlines.
Baggage Claim for Allegiant and Sun Country Airlines can be found on Level 2 of Terminal A. Once you’re off your Allegiant or Sun Country flight, your bags can be picked up at baggage claim carousels 20 to 32 on Level 2.
The Orlando International Airport said in its Facebook post that the move is “a reallocation of terminal and gate resources to better balance operations and maximize available space.” Currently, Terminal B is home to Alaska, Breeze, United, American, Air Canada, Volaris, WestJet, Viva Aerobus, Delta, LATAM, and Bahamasair. Only Frontier, Avelo, and Southwest depart from Terminal A after Spirit Airlines’ abrupt closure this summer.
