New aerial photos from bioreconstruct on X reveal ongoing construction throughout Monstropolis at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, including additional work around the central fountain, concrete foundations, and the monster-themed building façades.
Monstropolis Construction Update

The latest photos provide several close-up looks at the transformation of the former Muppets Courtyard, where crews continue preparing the pathways and buildings that will eventually welcome guests into the world of Monsters, Inc.
One wide aerial view shows extensive scaffolding surrounding several buildings along Dark Avenue, the street that will connect the main courtyard to the Monsters, Inc. factory and its upcoming suspended door roller coaster.

Much of The Glob Theater, formerly MuppetVision 3D, remains hidden behind scaffolding as crews work to transform the exterior of the sizeable showbuilding. The structure’s clock tower and entry area saw some of the land’s earliest efforts to remove Muppets-themed accents.
Despite the removal of scaffolding and other construction elements, work will eventually return to this side of the structure to add a Monster-inspired aesthetic in keeping with the rest of the developing land.

A closer look at the former Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano building, which will become Harryhausen’s Restaurant, reveals work continuing along its exterior. Sections of the upper façade have received new architectural detailing, including light-colored trim, while other portions remain covered in scaffolding.

The restaurant’s exterior is being extensively modified to resemble the unusual urban architecture of Monstropolis. In another close-up, a curved section of the building features a row of windows and decorative masonry, with numerous workers visible around the scaffolding.

Nearby, additional concrete foundations are taking shape along the future route toward the door coaster. Low concrete walls outline an irregularly shaped area between the buildings, while a rectangular section of reinforcing steel and wooden forms appears ready for further concrete work.
During our previous aerial update on October 25, these areas were also undergoing extensive excavation and concrete work. The latest images provide a clearer look at the increasingly defined boundaries of the future landscaping and pedestrian areas.

Elsewhere, another aerial focuses on the courtyard’s central fountain, which is being constructed near The Glob Theater.
The fountain occupies approximately the same location as the former Miss Piggy fountain. Our earlier coverage documented the initial concrete pour and subsequent construction of the octagonal walls.
The latest images also offer another look at the former Gonzo’s Royal Flush restrooms, which have been transformed with monster-inspired architectural details.
The brick building’s yellow “TRY OUR CANS” sign is visible above the entrance, along with its rooftop water tower and decorative trim. Much of the surrounding ground remains torn up as crews prepare the adjoining courtyard.

A wider aerial shows the neighboring former PizzeRizzo building, which will become Archie’s Scare Pig Pizza, alongside The Glob’s brick clock tower. Scaffolding still covers much of the restaurant’s exterior, where workers are preparing the building for its monstrous makeover.
Altogether, the new photographs illustrate how construction is progressing across multiple interconnected sections of the land. Although the buildings are gradually acquiring their Monstropolis identities, extensive work remains on the courtyard, pathways, and surrounding infrastructure.
