The new security screening station is taking shape at Disneyland, with roofing added to the framed structure and more construction progress for updated esplanade.

Disneyland Esplanade Construction Update

In our last update, we noticed that the framing for the new security screening station had been erected. Now, there is blue roofing added to the structure.

Underneath the structure are several ladders and scissor lifts, as well as several crew members actively working on the site. Outside of the structure are tarps covering areas of the cement being worked, including a large rectangular area that has been dug up.

Green tarps have been added to the fenced-off construction area since our last update. From our view on the monorail, it doesn’t appear that much progress has been made in this area. Off in the distance, we can see mounds of dirt that have accumulated from the crew excavating the site.

This demolition is the first step in preparation for a brand new pedestrian bridge connecting the esplanade to a new parking structure and transportation hub.

The pedestrian bridge will connect the esplanade to a new parking structure and transportation hub at the current site of the Manchester Cast Member parking lot. There will be approximately 6,000 parking spaces, 302 EV charging spaces, a dedicated area for shuttles and ridesharing, security, and dedicated access for traffic off Disney Way.
