Construction continues on Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift at Universal Studios Florida, with new aerial photos revealing progress on the coaster’s station entrance façade, service buildings, and surrounding walkways.
Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift Construction Update
The latest photos shared by aerial photographer bioreconstruct offer a detailed look at several areas of the project as Universal prepares for the attraction’s 2027 opening.
Station Entrance Façade and Pull Test Car
New steel framing has been installed along the exterior of the coaster’s station, forming the framework for the future entrance façade. The multi-story structure stands alongside an existing brick building, with construction lifts positioned around the framework as crews continue installation. Behind the façade, a pull test car is visible on the track near the unloading platform.
A closer view reveals the car positioned beneath the station roof, with workers visible on the surrounding platforms. The curved track and adjacent maintenance walkways are also clearly visible.
As we reported in our previous construction update, crews have been fine-tuning track components throughout the station area, including the brake run and switch track connecting the coaster’s launch sequence to its towering spike.
Service Buildings and Maintenance Facilities
Elsewhere on the construction site, two new aerial photos provide an overhead look at the large service building complex.
The connected structures now have extensive gray metal roofing and exterior wall panels, with exterior staircases and elevated walkways installed along their sides. Construction equipment, materials, and workers remain scattered around the buildings.
The complex will serve Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift while also expanding Universal’s facilities for the regular refurbishment of ride vehicles from other attractions, as suggested by bioreconstruct.
The buildings represent a substantial addition to the resort’s backstage maintenance infrastructure, beyond the facilities needed to operate the new coaster.

A closer aerial view of the track shows freshly poured concrete beneath the section known as the Speed Bump.
The concrete forms a service route that will provide maintenance crews with access to the track for daily inspections and upkeep. Several construction lifts are positioned around the track, while the coaster’s blue support columns rise from concrete foundations throughout the area.
The Speed Bump forms part of the coaster’s launch sequence leading toward the 170-foot vertical spike overlooking Universal CityWalk. Previous aerial photos documented the pull test car moving through portions of the brake run as work continued on the track’s launch and switching systems.
Along the Universal CityWalk waterfront, crews are preparing to pour one of the remaining sections of concrete walkway between Hard Rock Cafe and the new coaster.
The latest photos show workers installing reinforcement materials along a curved section of the pathway near the restaurant. Much of the surrounding walkway has already been paved with reddish concrete, while temporary construction walls continue to separate guests from the active worksite.
A temporary ramp over a garden wall also remains in place near the construction area. According to bioreconstruct, the former pedestrian route beneath the coaster’s vertical spike will not return once construction is complete.

An expansive aerial view shows the new waterfront path curving around the coaster’s supports, with the Universal globe visible nearby.
The aerial photos also provide a glimpse behind construction scrims surrounding the entrance gateway to Universal Studios Florida.
