Before the dawn of Avengers: Doomsday, the two leading Marvel stars are enjoying a kind of Freaky Friday situation for some light Halloween fun.
Robert Downey Jr. and Pedro Pascal’s Halloween Costume Swap
Robert Downey Jr. and Pedro Pascal briefly traded Marvel identities for this year’s Halloween festivities, dressing as each other’s characters ahead of the December release of Avengers: Doomsday.
Downey, who plays Victor von Doom/Doctor Doom in the upcoming film, donned the blue Fantastic Four uniform associated with Pascal’s Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic. Pascal returned the favor with Doctor Doom’s metallic mask and hooded cape.
In the costume reveal shared by Downey on Instagram, the Iron Man/Doctor Doom actor initially covers his face with both hands while Pascal hides behind Doom’s mask. The pair then uncover their faces, revealing the actors beneath their swapped superhero and supervillain identities.
Downey captioned his post, “Victor. Richard. Costume swap!”
A second Instagram Reel from user lukesoutpost shows the costumed actors walking arm in arm along a street at night. Both play to the camera, with Pascal lifting his mask as they approach before continuing down the street together.
The costume swap follows another recent lighthearted Marvel-Halloween gag from Downey. He also shared an Avengers: Doomsday-themed illustration inspired by It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, with a Doctor Doom trick-or-treater receiving a rock from the Thing.
Avengers: Doomsday
Downey and Pascal will appear as Doctor Doom and Mister Fantastic, respectively, in Avengers: Doomsday. Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, the film brings together heroes from three distinct universes and opens in theaters on December 18, 2026.
Marvel recently released another preview featuring a lighter moment among its ensemble, with Scott Lang struggling to address Steve Rogers, Sam Wilson, and John Walker in the “Captains America” teaser.
