Grab your poncho, because Central Florida is serving up a very soggy start to November — including Disney World. Record-breaking rainfall has already drenched parts of the region, and another round of heavy rain is moving through this morning. A Flood Watch is in effect for nearly all of Central Florida today, with the heaviest downpours hitting Brevard County. Some communities there could see another 2 to 3 inches of rain.
Fewer crowds, cooler temps, and a legitimate reason to duck into a cozy table-service restaurant at Disney World? Sounds like a win. We’ve rounded up all the details you need to know if you’re heading to the parks this week, so let’s get into it.
If you’re headed to Disney World today, don’t cancel your plans just yet. According to Fox 35 Orlando, rain is expected to stay widespread through the morning, then turn scattered by the afternoon, with cool highs in the 70s. Scattered showers may linger overnight and into Tuesday morning. For us, that means one thing: it’s the perfect excuse to eat your way through the parks.
Heavy rain and flash flood warnings are continuing across Central Florida after record-breaking downpours.
A Flood Watch is in effect for nearly all of Central Florida through 7 PM tonight, November 2nd, due to the threat of additional heavy rainfall. Rain is expected to remain widespread through the morning and become more scattered later this afternoon. Luckily, temperatures will stay cooler, with highs in the 70s.
Scattered showers remain possible overnight and into Tuesday morning. Residents and visitors should remain alert for changing conditions, avoid driving through flooded roadways, and monitor local weather alerts.
Our biggest tip for days like this is to not let the rain ruin your day! For the most part, the crowds will really thin out when it rains. So if you stick it out, you will likely have the opportunity to enjoy lower wait times. The indoor merchandise areas will likely get very crowded, and wait times might initially spike. But we suggest heading towards an attraction with an indoor queue.
If you’re looking to grab a bite to eat to get out of the rain, take a look at the Walk-up Waitlist in the My Disney Experience app to see if any Table Service restaurants have availability.
We think Magic Kingdom is the best park for a rainy day simply because there are so many indoor attractions and locations. Even if quite a few outdoor rides shut down due to lightning, there are still many things to do, and places to eat inside.
