Walt Disney Presents at Disney’s Hollywood Studios has holiday exhibits and short films for another winter season.

The gallery’s marquee has been updated to advertise the holiday shorts and the Disney Takes A Holiday exhibit. A frame at the entrance also displays posters for the three holiday shorts playing in The Walt Disney Theater: The Art of Skiing, Pluto’s Christmas Tree, and On Ice.

The holiday exhibit is at the very end of the gallery, outside the theater. While last year’s displays focused on Disney’s classic holiday films, this year is all about the holidays at Disney Parks. As a plaque states:

Disney Takes A Holiday

Enchanting experiences fill Walt Disney World all year round, but during the holiday season, The Most Magical Place on Earth also becomes the merriest! This exhibit celebrates the many festive ways the holidays come to life across the Disney parks and resorts.

This display showcases a cozy scene with letters to Santa Claus from Disney characters and children.

Here Comes Santa Claus

With the arrival of each holiday season, Walt Disney World rolls out the red carpet to welcome the jolly old elf himself! Between preparations for the big day, Santa makes special stops around the parks to visit and take photos, hear guests’ holiday wishes, or spread some Christmas cheer down Main Street from high atop his sleigh.

For those who prefer making a list (and checking it twice), guests can mail their Christmas wishes and season’s greetings express to the North Pole from special mailboxes at the Magic Kingdom and Disney Springs!

This display showcases paper Christmas trees, a Mickey wreath, and photos and artwork of various Disney Parks holiday traditions.

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

The holiday season has been a special time of celebration at the Disney parks since Disneyland’s debut in 1955. And though these festive offerings may look a little different from Walt Disney’s original sense of spectacle—featuring Mouseketeers, a Holidayland circus, and even camels parading down Main Street, U.S.A.—many of the parks’ classic holiday traditions have endured through the years and continued to grow.

Today, Walt Disney World receives a complete holiday transformation for the holidays, with decorations and Christmas trees designed especially for each of the parks and resorts. Window displays come alive with magic, shows and attractions receive special holiday overlays, joyful music and parades fill the streets, and as night falls, the shimmering Christmas light displays give new meaning to a holiday glow-up.

This case features some sketches of holiday decorations, as well as a giant piece of popcorn and a popcorn mold. These fake popcorn pieces appear on the giant Christmas tree at Magic Kingdom.

Deck the Halls

Backstage, an unassuming warehouse is home to an extraordinary group of Cast Members who work their magic all year round to ensure the holidays at Walt Disney World are truly merry and bright. Overseeing a monumental collection of over 50,000 different decorations, the Holiday Services team prepares for their annual debut by meticulously crafting, maintaining, and planning how and where each piece will be installed.

Much of this enormous effort takes place overnight, magically transforming the parks and resorts from one day to the next with dazzling lights, festive wreaths, and over 800 uniquely themed Christmas trees.

A snowman, skis, and large candy canes are in a display about snow.

Let it Snow!

Short of getting some help from Elsa’s ice powers, Central Florida has a slim chance of seeing a truly white Christmas. Even so, Walt Disney World has found imaginative ways to fill the parks with plenty of winter magic and holiday flurries.

As Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade glides down Main Street, U.S.A., guests should look skyward for some delightfully unseasonal winter weather. This spectacular and surprising scene is thanks to a substance called “snoap.” With the help of compressed air cannons, this special mixture turns into fluffy bubbles that flurry and fall like real snowflakes. The “snoap” quickly dissolves after landing, providing all the fun of a snow day with none of the shoveling!

A decal on the wall also advertises the three Christmas short films, which play continuously throughout the day.

Later in the season, Santa Claus will meet in Walt Disney Presents. Live-action Ariel has already moved so crews can prepare for his arrival.
