Shanghai Disney Resort is preparing to celebrate the holiday season with the return of Disney Winter Frostival, featuring returning favorites and new offerings as part of the resort’s ongoing 10th anniversary celebration.
New and Returning Winter Entertainment
The 2026 Disney Winter Frostival season will bring new entertainment, festive character costumes, holiday decorations, seasonal food, and merchandise to the resort from November 19, 2026, through February 20, 2027.
This year’s festivities coincide with Shanghai Disney Resort’s 10th Birthday Celebration and feature several new offerings alongside returning holiday traditions. The event follows last year’s Disney Winter Frostival celebration.
A new interactive entertainment experience, Star Squad: Join Olaf for a Cozy Celebration, will debut at the castle viewing area this winter. The performance will feature Olaf and Anna from Frozen alongside the Shanghai Disneyland Band and the Star Squad. Guests will be invited to participate in singing, dancing, and lighting up magical stars as part of the resort’s ongoing “With You, It’s Magic+” anniversary celebration.
Several popular seasonal entertainment offerings will also return, including Mickey’s Snow Magic, which transforms Mickey Avenue into a winter wonderland with falling snow.
Throughout Mickey Avenue and the Gardens of Imagination, guests will also encounter snow statues and ice sculptures depicting Disney characters. Additional snow statues inspired by Zootopia will appear within the park’s themed land.
The Disney Winter Magic Cavalcade will once again feature beloved Disney characters aboard elaborate floats depicting classic winter scenes. After dark, A Celebration of Disney Winter Frostival will illuminate the Enchanted Storybook Castle and Gardens of Imagination with projections, lighting effects, and music inspired by Disney stories.
New Festive Spirit Comes to Shanghai Disneyland
From December 1, 2026, through January 3, 2027, Mickey Mouse and his friends will debut new holiday outfits inspired by a winter ski vacation. The characters’ sporty ensembles will feature warm clothing suited for the colder season.
Santa Goofy will return to Mickey Avenue for holiday greetings, while additional Disney characters throughout the park will wear cozy winter accessories.
Duffy and Friends will also debut new Christmas costumes featuring festive colors and seasonal details.
Disney Queens, Princesses, and Princes will also participate in Castle Encounters, with select characters occasionally appearing in special winter costumes featured in the Disney Winter Magic Cavalcade.
Shanghai Disney Resort will introduce new holiday decorations throughout Shanghai Disneyland, Shanghai Disneyland Hotel, Toy Story Hotel, and Disneytown.
Christmas trees will appear across the resort, including the towering centerpiece in the Gardens of Imagination. The returning Mickey’s Magical Tree Lighting Ceremony will feature Mickey, Minnie, Duffy, LinaBell, and a live band as the tree is illuminated. Additional seasonal entertainment will include Light Up the Holidays with Magic, Christmas Swing, and the Mickey Avenue Carolers.
At Disneytown, the Christmas Tree Trail will return, featuring an iconic Christmas tree decorated in honor of Shanghai Disney Resort’s 10th anniversary. The Disneytown Christmas Market will also feature food booths, craft stations, festive activities, and Santa’s cabin. Santa Claus will greet children on weekends and holidays, while the Magic Glee Club will perform during Disneytown’s traditional Christmas tree lighting ceremony.
For New Year’s celebrations on December 31, 2026, and January 1, 2027, Mickey and Friends will wear special celebratory outfits. The Enchanted Storybook Castle will also host Ignite the New Year, a special castle celebration inviting guests to wish upon a star as they welcome 2027.
Seasonal Food, Beverage, and Merchandise Offerings
Disney Winter Frostival will introduce a selection of seasonal treats throughout Shanghai Disney Resort.
Holiday beverages will include hot chocolate and flavored milk tea, accompanied by Christmas-themed cookies, muffins, Mickey and Pals-themed tanghulu, and cotton candy.

Shanghai Disneyland Hotel and Toy Story Hotel will also offer themed dinner buffets accompanied by seasonal activities and entertainment.
Several exclusive merchandise collections will debut during Disney Winter Frostival.
