Aerial photographer bioreconstruct shared a new collection of photos showing the intricate network of tracks and supports taking shape inside the future Monsters, Inc. roller coaster. The attraction is being constructed behind the upcoming Monstropolis land, in a former Cast Member parking lot.

Several sections of the coaster’s white track are now installed among the towering black support columns. The suspended coaster will feature an elaborate, multilevel ride path inspired by the door vault from the original Monsters, Inc. film.

One view shows a curved section of track winding between the supports near the floor of the building. Additional track is visible overhead, illustrating how multiple portions of the ride will occupy the same interior space at different elevations.

Other sections of the structure contain elevated platforms for block brakes, which are used to regulate the movement and spacing of roller coaster trains. In one image, a block brake platform can be seen awaiting track installation, with another level of track already visible underneath.

The track is being installed simultaneously with the building’s structural framework, rather than waiting until the exterior is fully enclosed. Crews are working around the numerous support columns using cranes and boom lifts, with one overview revealing six boom lifts and a crane operating inside the structure.

Additional black supports remain staged on the ground awaiting installation, while some of the existing support columns are covered in protective plastic.

Construction is also progressing on the outside of the enormous show building.

As seen in our previous update from October 31, crews have begun enclosing portions of the structure with blue and white wall panels. The latest photos show these exterior sections continuing to take shape, while much of the upper steel framework remains exposed.

Large rectangular openings remain in the walls, and scaffolding surrounds portions of the exterior where work is ongoing.

Additional structural columns are being installed to support the eventual roof. In one area, a column is temporarily secured with wire ropes attached to heavy concrete blocks while crews continue work on the surrounding framework.

Meanwhile, the park’s perimeter service road has been diverted to accommodate construction and the future extension of Monstropolis toward the factory. Bioreconstruct suggests that the road may eventually be rerouted entirely around the new building, although the final configuration has not been confirmed.

A separate aerial photo shows the nearby staging yard, where more roller coaster components are being stored ahead of installation.

Long sections of white and black track are arranged across the site, alongside steel beams, support components, and other construction materials. Several flatbed trucks and pieces of heavy equipment are also present.

With track installation underway throughout the building, the project is gradually revealing more of the finished ride’s complex layout.

Monsters, Inc. Door Coaster Construction

Monstropolis, which replaces Muppets Courtyard, will open in phases. Most of the land will open next year, but Disney hasn’t announced an opening timeframe for the coaster, which will be Disney’s first vertical lift and first suspended coaster. Aerial photos from last month provide a clearer picture of how trains will travel through the door coaster currently under construction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Parts of Monstropolis will open to guests in 2027 while construction continues on the door coaster. Follow our Monstropolis construction updates for more coverage of the upcoming land.
