In case you haven’t noticed, it’s finally 2021! We spent all day in Disney World today checking out what this New Year has to offer, including the modified return of Park Hopping!
With the holiday season now officially behind us, we wondered what we would see today in terms of the parks returning to “normal,” so to speak. We’ll miss our beloved gingerbread treats and cheerful music, but all good things must come to an end, we suppose!
With Disney World phasing back into its regular “groove,” we made sure to check out the character cavalcades that have been entertaining guests since the parks reopened back in July. These mini-parades step off several times throughout the day and have taken on some seriously cute holiday overlays.
In fact, it’s been quite some time since we’ve seen a “normal” cavalcade! Things got spooky back in September with the arrival of the Halloween cavalcades, and then we launched right into Christmas cavalcades in November! Would 2021 bring about any more changes to the cavalcades, or did they go back to what they were prior?
By our observations, it’s business as usual with the cavalcades! We watched a couple of the flotillas pass by at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Mickey and Minnie are in their safari gear, along with Pluto! No Santa Claus in sight.
Over in Magic Kingdom, we caught a few of the park’s regular cavalcades today on their first day back! We watched the Royal Princess Processional make its way down Main Street, U.S.A., and the holiday decor has been removed from their float.
The princesses are back in their “normal” royal attire, after some were spotted in Christmas outfits, like Belle!
We also saw the Fantasyland Friends Cavalcade! We waved “hello” to Aladdin and Mary Poppins as they passed by…
…as well as Pooh, Peter Pan, and Alice!
…and of course, Gaston. With the Halloween cavalcades long behind us, he’s one of the few villains you can spot these days around the parks!
And finally, what trip to Magic Kingdom would be complete these days without checking out the Mickey & Friends Cavalcade? It’s also back today in full force!
Mickey, Minnie, and Pluto are back in their outfits from their 90th-anniversary celebration, which they wore last year, too! (Wow, it feels nice to refer to 2020 as “last year,” doesn’t it?).
All of these cavalcades can be seen several times throughout the day, giving you plenty of opportunities to see you favorite characters!
We’ll keep checking in on these cavalcades at all four theme parks and we’ll let you know if we spot anything different as we head into the New Year!
