What’s New at Animal Kingdom: An ‘Up’ Photo-Op and Gummi Centipedes!

Welcome back, DFB friends! We’re here with another What’s New at Disney’s Animal Kingdom!

Tree of Life

And, we’ve got plenty of updates to share with you! So, what are you waiting for? Let’s jump right on in!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Entertainment Update

Slowly, but surely, Christmas has started to make its way out of Disney’s Animal Kingdom as the holiday season ends. While there are a few lingering decorations in the park (like the giant tree), the music has returned back to its regularly scheduled park soundtrack!

As the Christmas decorations have started to disappear, brand new photo-ops have made their way into the park instead! At the entrance to the Animal Kingdom, you can pose with Russell, Dug, and Kevin (one of our favorite trios) with the Up PhotoPass Frame.

You might have your adventures planned for Asia or Pandora for the day, but you can remember how much you love exploring Disney’s Animal Kingdom with this new photo-op. A PhotoPass photographer is standing nearby to take the perfect photo for your scrapbooks too!

But, that’s not the only photo-op spot that’s different in Disney’s Animal Kingdom right now!

Take a look at the new details of the entrance photo-op here!

During the holidays, the Merry Menagerie Photo Wall was a vibrant and festive place to snap a few pictures with your friends and family. Now, though, it’s been returned back to the Lion King Photo Wall instead…

Popcorn Stands

Over at the Popcorn Stands, we noticed that the Green Jingle Sipper was still hanging out for the beginning of January.

But, there were also Pixar, The Lion King, and Simba-themed Popcorn Buckets available to pick up as well!

Nomad Lounge

If you plan on heading to the Nomad Lounge, you might want to hurry first thing in the morning or wait until later in the day! A Cast Member told us that the line often gets long right when the park opens, since many people are waiting to put their names on the reservation list.

Tamu Tamu

As you’re exploring Disney’s Animal Kingdom, you can stop for a bite to eat at Tamu Tamu since their breakfast items are still sticking around! You can find eats like the Colossal Mickey Cinnamon Roll, Croissants, Biscuits, and more there (and they all sound amazing)!

Anandapur Ice Cream Truck

Now that Disney has distanced queues and a few pockets of crowds here and there, the parks are doing their best to direct people to the correct lines. And, the Anandapur Ice Cream Truck has added a few elephant and tiger papers to help signal the pick-up window at the food truck!
