Disney World will be reopening one of its two water parks in just a few weeks. Specifically, Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park is set to reopen on March 7th, 2021.
We’ve already gotten a look at what the park’s hours will be like, and guests can already buy their tickets to have some fun in the sun at this water park. We know that Blizzard Beach will be reopening with some modified safety rules in place due to the global pandemic, and they have noted that masks will be required. But, where will you have to wear a mask while in the water park? Disney has updated its rules and now we’re sharing what you need to know.
According to Disney, when Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park reopens, “it will operate in alignment with the health and safety protocols implemented throughout the Walt Disney World Resort, including reduced capacity, temperature screenings, physical distancing markings and face coverings.”
Disney has now specified that face coverings will be required in designated areas for guests ages 2 and up. These “designated areas” will include, but not be limited to, the park entrance and exit, retail areas, and food and beverage ordering areas.
Face coverings will NOT be allowed, however, while guests are experiencing water slides or in the water. You’ll also be able to remove your mask when you’re actively eating or drinking, but you’ll need to remain stationary and maintain appropriate physical distancing from others.
So, if you plan on visiting the Water Park when it reopens, be sure to look for those designated areas where masks are required, but keep in mind that masks won’t be allowed while you’re in the water or on a water slide.
For now, a park reservation is not required to visit Disney’s Blizzard Beach when it reopens, but Disney has noted that reservation requirements are subject to change.
We’ll definitely keep an eye out for more updates about Blizzard Beach and its reopening. Be sure to check back with us for all the latest news!
